MLB Signing Deadline?

Image
By Colin Dixon January 31st, 2019 Pictures Via @MLB Twitter We are just a couple weeks from pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training and just under a month from all players reporting as well. Over the past couple years the trend of waiting as long as possible to sign a contract has become super popular and it has led to top free agents still being unsigned at the moment with Spring Training coming up soon. This brings up the question, should the MLB input a signing deadline for its Free Agents? I think yes. Teams should not be nearing Spring Training not knowing who is going to be there on their spring roster. I understand this rule would be hard to put in place but we have waited months on months waiting for the top Free Agent players to sign and they have not done anything. Bryce Harper and Manny Machado were the headlining players for this year's Free Agent class and both of them have met with multiple teams but neither has done anything since those meetin

By Colin Dixon January 23rd, 2019 Picture Via @BarryBonds Twitter After another year of being left out of the Hall of Fame, Barry Bonds's time is running out. Since being on the Hall of Fame ballot since 2014 Bonds only has three more years to find his way into the hall. Bonds is widely known as the Home Run King... who did steroids. The players elected this year were Mariano Rivera, Roy Halladay, Edgar Martinez, and Mike Mussina. Bonds got 59.1% of votes this year but he needs 75% to get into the Hall of Fame. Since being on the ballot in 2014 his percentage has risen each year but over the next three years, it will be interesting to see if he can get that extra 15% to push h

No LeBron, A lot of Problems

Image
By Colin Dixon January 15th, 2019 Picture Via @Lakers Twitter After a shaky start to the season, the Los Angeles Lakers finally caught fire and were opening eyes in the Western Conference. Going into their Christmas Night showdown with the reigning champion Golden State Warriors the Lakers were 19-14 and on a roll. LeBron James was entering his first game against the Warriors since joining the Lakers and the matchup was set up to be an epic showdown. But, in the third quarter, James went down with a left groin injury and did not return to the game. Without James, the Lakers managed to still come out with a huge victory over the Warriors. But, ever since then the Lakers have been ice cold with just 3 wins in the last 10 games. It was going to be very interesting to see what this Lakers team was going to do without the King in their lineup and they have struggled severely without hi in. 3 of their 7 losses have come to teams under the .500 mark and against good competition the
