Antonio Brown Saga Continues
By Colin Dixon, September 5th
Via @ComplexSports TwitterThe saga that seemed never-ending this preseason is continuing into week 1 of this season. Antonio Brown was fined by General Manager Mike Mayock for not showing up to practice, and Brown proceeded to post a picture of the fine letter on his Instagram.
Brown was very unhappy with the organization so he went right to social media to show the world how he felt about it. This tactic made the Raiders very mad at the receiver and they plan to fine him more and even suspend him for the first game of the year.
It was reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN that GM Mayock and Brown had a talk about the situation and it got a little heated. It even ended with Brown saying "he wants to punch him (Mayock) in the face."
Mayock got interviewed today after this news broke and did not have much to say besides that Brown was not in the building anymore.
Just a day after the helmet situation ends AB is back in the news and this time it is not a joke. What else is not a joke? Brown possibly could be stripped of his $30 Million guarantee that was signed when he was traded to the team. The team is dissatisfied with how Brown has acted since his arrival and this suspension is letting him know that they do not tolerate this kind of behavior.
Brown has not made any comments on the situation since the post of his fine on social media. If you have Brown on your fantasy team it would be smart to bench him for this week and maybe even trade him.
Speaking of trades Adam Schefter even mentioned that Brown might not even suit up for the Raiders again, and he could even be traded again. But who would want to deal with this mess? I do not know if anyone does. The Steelers sure did not and the Raiders took a risk when they traded for him. This risk has not worked out yet and it will be interesting to see how this situation will play out.
