My College Football Picks For This Weekend

Image
By Colin Dixon, September 11th 2019 Picture Via @TarHeelFootball Twitter I was hoping to start this at the beginning of the season but I did not have time with school, work and other things. But here is what will be the first week of college football picks and I hope I can release this every Wednesday. I will do my top 10 best bets of the week. I will highlight my picks in yellow. Week Three College Football Game One: North Carolina @ Wake Forest -3.0 I really like the under dog in this game and I am going with the North Carolina Tar Heels in this game. Under coach Mac Brown the Tar Heels have defeated two "top" level schools in South Carolina and Miami. On the other side Wake Forest had played two lower level teams and have given up an average of 28 points a game. My guess is the Tar Heels play another thriller and win 34-31 on the road. Game Two: Kansas @ Boston College -21.0 This one is plain and simple, Boston College is averaging 40 points a game versus d...

Rest In Peace Tyler Skaggs

Image
By Colin Dixon, July 1st Picture Via @Angels Twitter On Monday, July 1st the Baseball world was shaken by the news that Angels Starting Pitcher Tyler Skaggs had passed away at the age of 27. Skaggs and the Angels had just traveled from Los Angeles to Arlington, Texas to start a four-game series on Monday against the Rangers.  This morning at the Angels team hotel Skaggs was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. With this tragic event taking place the game between the Angels and Rangers was canceled and will be scheduled later in the future.  Only 10 years ago the Angels lost another young Starting Pitcher by the name of Nick Adenhart who was killed in a car crash at the beginning of the 2009 season.  10 years ago when Adenhart was killed I was only 8 years old and about to turn 9. I was saddened to hear what happened to the young pitcher Adenhart but I did not truly understand what I understand now. Skaggs death hit closer to home...

MLB Signing Deadline?

Image
By Colin Dixon January 31st, 2019 Pictures Via @MLB Twitter We are just a couple weeks from pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training and just under a month from all players reporting as well. Over the past couple years the trend of waiting as long as possible to sign a contract has become super popular and it has led to top free agents still being unsigned at the moment with Spring Training coming up soon. This brings up the question, should the MLB input a signing deadline for its Free Agents? I think yes. Teams should not be nearing Spring Training not knowing who is going to be there on their spring roster. I understand this rule would be hard to put in place but we have waited months on months waiting for the top Free Agent players to sign and they have not done anything. Bryce Harper and Manny Machado were the headlining players for this year's Free Agent class and both of them have met with multiple teams but neither has done anything since those meetin...
