1 Week Until Clemson Football

Well, the time has come and Tiger football is only a week away. Next Thursday the Clemson Tigers will start their title defense against conference rival Georgia Tech at 5:00 PM (pacific) on the ACC Network.
An offseason that seemed like was never coming to an end is on its way out and I could not be happier. One of the best times of the year has finally arrived and the Tigers are ready to roll.
After shocking the world in January by beating the heavy favorite Alabama Crimson Tide in the national championship 44-16 the Tigers led by coach Dabo Swinney are looking to repeat, and they have the roster to do it.
After last year they lost a key part of the team which was the defensive line but as usual, Clemson has recruited well in the past years and will have to rely on young guys to carry the load up front. Everywhere else on the Clemson depth chart there are guys with experience that can help lead the young guys to the promise land.
With young but experienced Heisman favorites on offense in Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne, the Tigers are bound to have an explosive year. Both guys dominated every defense they faced and will look to keep that up all of 2019.
But do not forget about two of the most lethal receivers in the country in Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross. Higgins who is a junior and will enter 2019 in what is most likely his last year in Death Valley as he will enter the draft after the season will look to have a big year with all eyes on him. Meanwhile, sophomore Justyn Ross will just try to continue to do what he did all of last year which was score touchdowns and make ridiculous catches.
All around the Tigers look poised to make another run for a title and they will not have much in their way when trying to make that run. Their only true test on paper right now is Texas A&M who barely lost to the Tigers last year. Besides that, the Tigers will just have to avoid any little slip-ups against the teams within the ACC.
I am very excited to watch the Tigers in 2019 and hope for the best. I will be rooting hard and yelling at my TV every Saturday (and this random Thursday to start the year). GO TIGERS!!
