College Football Championship Week Picks

The time has finally came, it is Championship Week and I cannot be more ready to go. This may or may not be the last set of picks for the year based on what my schedule is upcoming with me moving around and going to my new home. Anyways this upcoming week is filled with a great slate of football with teams battling out for the conference championships. But before we get into I need to give my update on how I did last week. I ended up getting back to my old ways and going 6-4. My four losses were because Illinois could not handle the hype and actually lost to Northwestern, then Minnesota as well could not handle any sort of hype and lost to Wisconsin as Dawgs, then Tennessee did not fail like the other teams but they just did not cover, and then lastly the Arizona State Sun Devils won their game by 10 and not 14 but thats okay another positive week in the books. My Championship Week picks are below but there are only 8 games this week so that is that:
GAME 1: PAC 12 CHAMPIONSHIP #5 Utah -6.5 vs. #13 Oregon
This game will be taking place just down the street at Levis Stadium on Friday Night where the Pac 12's best will butt heads and play a hard fought game. This game had a lot more playoff implications a couple weeks ago and then Oregon lost and now the only team with a chance in Utah. But with their common opponents Oregon either smacked them or won against the one team that Utah lost to. This game would have been favoring Oregon if they did not lose to ASU but honestly they are the same team as they have been all season and I like the Ducks in this one. Utah has become an offensive juggernaut this season but they haven't played a defense quite like the Ducks. I really like the chances for the Ducks to play spoiler this Friday night.
MY PICK: QUACK QUACK +6.5
GAME 2: BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP #7 Baylor +9.0 vs #6 Oklahoma
Now this is the second biggest "playoff implication" game this weekend because whoever wins will have a solid chance of sneaking their way into the 4 spot of the playoff. Both of these teams played this season where Baylor blew a 28-3 lead and ended up losing. This time Oklahoma won't be the road team but neither will Baylor as the game will be a neutral site. I picked this game when they played last time but I failed since Baylor still covered. I think Baylor is coming out for revenge but their counterparts are coming out to be in the playoff. With that being said I really do like Oklahoma again. In college football the team with experience always prevails in big moments like this.
MY PICK: OKAY BOOMER -9.0
GAME 3: SUN BELT CHAMPIONSHIP Louisiana +6.5 @ #21 Appalachian State
Welp App State was at the top of the group of 5 talk a couple weeks ago until they blew their undefeated record and although they are for sure not going to be in a NY6 bowl if they win they will find theirselves in a big bowl to represent the Sun Belt conference. I do not know much about this matchup though and I am just sticking with what is comfortable to me and that App State.
MY PICK: APPPPPP STATE -6.5
GAME 4: AMERICAN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP #20 Cincinnati +9.0 vs #17 Memphis
These teams literally played last week and the only thing on the line last week was who will get to host the game. Memphis ended up winning that game 34-24 and will get to host the same exact game two weeks in a row. If Memphis wins this game they will be in a NY6 bowl against some big competition but if Cincy wins they will need Boise State to lose which most likely will not happen. Anyways I go with what my gut says and that says to pick the team that won the last time and that would be Memphis.
MY PICK: LET THE MEMPHIS BLUES REIGN -9.0
GAME 5: SEC CHAMPIONSHIP #4 Georgia +7.0 vs #2 LSU
So here is the thing Georgia is playing in their 3rd SEC Championship in a row and they are 1-1, coming off last year when they had their playoff hopes ripped right away from them. Anyways they have a completely different opponent on their hands in LSU with Joe Burrow who is a baaaaaad man and he will definitely win the Heisman. LSU is in the playoff already (not official) and that is for sure but if they win they will secure either the #1 or #2 seed instead of the #4 if they lose. Anyways Georgia is salivating going into this matchup just wanting another taste at the CFB Playoff but honestly I do not see it happening at all just because LSU is too good and too deep.
MY PICK: TIGERS ON TOP -7.0
GAME 6: MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP Hawaii vs Boise State O/U 65
Boise State will win this game and that is without a doubt in my mind. Hawaii is not on the Island they will be in freezing cold Idaho which is very far from the paradise that the Rainbow Warriors are used to. Anyways what is new my over under pick includes Hawaii. These two played in the same location a couple months back and the score was 59-37 which obliterates this over that they have lined up in this game. This is simple and easy everyone.
MY PICK: THE under IS OVERRATED +65
GAME 7: ACC CHAMPIONSHIP #23 Virginia +28.5 vs #3 Clemson
Now who would come here expecting me to pick against the Tigers cause that is not happening. EVER. Anyways Clemson is expected to come in here and blast Virginia because that is just the facts people. Dabo is the best coach in the land and the Tigers are gonna win another ACC Title and win it big.
MY PICK: C-L-E-M-S-O-N -28.5
GAME 8: BIG 10 CHAMPIONSHIP #1 Ohio State -16.5 vs #8 Wisconsin
As some of the other matchups above showed that the teams have already played this season this game is no different. Honestly this is gonna be the same outcome as the ones above. Ohio State is ranked #1 for a reason and last time they played Wisconsin they blew them out 38-7. This game will not be much different and Ohio State will have a cake walk right into the CFB Playoff.
MY PICK: THE OHIO STATE -16.5
I love college football and although this time is very exciting especially with a team in the race it is sad that last weekend was my last Saturday with multiple games running at once all day. But that is okay I am excited for what is to come and hey theres always next year to watch all the game and hey I am guaranteed 6 games in person so that is sick! Anyways as always thanks for tuning in and GO TIGERS!
